Birthday Wishes

I love celebrating birthdays, don't you?

Well, today it is mine! And I thought it would be fun to celebrate by sharing a present with you! I have a brand new, shiny, all-ready-to-be-inked-and-loved copy of my favorite Say It Loud stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps just waiting for you!

Perfect, no? All you need to do is leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite kind of cake is. And if you don't like cake (really? you don't like cake?) tell me what you *do* like. Okie dokie? Me, I loooove this cake from the Oakmont Bakery in Pittsburgh that is almond cake with raspberry preserves filling and then buttercream icing on top. Ooh yummy! I can't wait to hear what you have to say - I will choose a winner on Monday, August 29th.

The card above is for my Dad, we share a birthday which is pretty cool. I was inspired by the Rocket Age paper collection from October Afternoon and went with a space theme. Does it look like orbiting planets to you? Just a bit of fun.

So glad you stopped in today and I can't wait to hear about your cake favorites! Big birthday hugs!

Anya

  9. What a delightful card, Anya! I really must bring my sewing machine out from the corner in the basement and use it in my papercrafting, as I simply adore the look it gives to handmade card creations! My favorite cake is one my grandma used to make - hot milk sponge cake with broiled coconut icing - absolutely NOTHING better and when I make it for my family now it just brings back all those wonderful memories of my grandma in the kitchen making this delicate and oh so yummy cake!

  11. Big birthday hugs to you Anya! And your dad! Love the card! Just a really really cool idea.

Cakes - soooo tough to choose!! Hmmm. I guess it will have to be a cherry chocolate cake that I make. It is so moist and the frosting is to die for. I got the recipe from my Cake Doctor cookbook. It has a can of cherry pie filling in it and a touch of almond flavoring. Yum!

    Have a wonderful day!

I can't eat sugar anymore, but my favorite cake was always a fabulous lemon torte from a local bakery. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Eat a piece (or two) for me on your special day!

I'm so inspired by your card today, love how the stitching adds instead of detracts from the circles. And oh, my favorite cake has to be the ones my boys (including the husband) made for me my last birthday, simple white cake with the store bought white frosting. Yummo!
