WMS July Release Day Three

Here we are at Day 3 of the Waltzingmouse Stamps July previews. Eight new sets will be available for purchase tomorrow! If you've missed the previews from the past two days, you can check them out here and here.

Today we are sharing previews of Eat Cake, You're Lovely, and Flourishes - Scallops and Dots. Let's get right to it, shall we?

Claire peeked Eat Cake for you yesterday. I think the DT all had a moment of panic that we had the wrong day! Here is the card I created for you today.

Love this set. The font is fresh and playful, and I adore the fancy cake plate. I'm thinking of what other images I can use with it! There will most definitely be cupcakes from Frame It sitting pretty on that plate.

A little fun using Flourishes - Scallops and Dots. These are classic flourishes, but so much more with the scalloped and dotted patterns! I turned mine into a little perch for the birdies from Asian Gardens. The sentiment, My Dearest Dear, is a combo from Cameo to Go. I have fallen for this font - a little vintage, a little homespun - it makes me think of a stitched sampler.

And finally, one of the most fun sets ever: You're Lovely. The dress form done WMS style, and in my opinion, the uber yummiest.

A paper pieced dress (this is the second dress image in this set!), a scored diamond pattern in the background, and some sparkly bling make this the perfect card to give to your best girl friend! I think the sentiment would also be great as an alternative to 'thank you'.

Well that's me for today - have your wish lists just gotten longer? This month, six of the eight sets being released are all small 6x4 sets... just a little info for your list-making purposes ;)

Ready for more inspiration?

Tomorrow is our new release hop - 2 pm EST start time!

WMS July Release Day Two

Welcome back to our second day of previews for the WMS July release. Eight new sets will be released on July 1. If you missed yesterday's previews, you can start here at the WMS Blog.

Today we are previewing two new sentiment sets designed to provide you with any and all the words you might need for a wedding or related occasion! Presented in a large, elegant font these are a stunning addition to your collection!

First up is a cute little invitation.

The outside design and oval frame are from a combination of Cameo Creations, Cameo to Go, and the Oval, Classic Frames sets previewed yesterday. The envelope flap tucks behind the embossed oval frame.

A view of the open envelope. The 'Wedding Invitation' sentiment is from Big Day Essentials. If you are getting married, or design invitations, this set is perfect - it includes all the coordinating sentiments for your RSVPs, programs, and reception. I have not done this set justice, the ensemble opportunities are many!

I also love the phrase-building ability of these sets. Here is a card made using a combination of sentiments from Big Day Additions.

I love this elegant font. It really does stand on its own!

Here are links to the rest of the ladies. I can't wait to hop around and see what they've done today!

See you tomorrow!

WMS July Release Day One

Ok - first off: July? What the heck? Where did April, May, and June go?

I guess the good news is that it is time for a Waltzingmouse Stamps release! Eight new sets will be released on July 1. Today Claire and the Design Team will be sharing previews of three new sets. Let's just say if you've been waiting for cameos, this month is for you!

The eight sets being released this month really compliment each other well - you will see a lot of mixing and matching from me. First up is another die-friendly set called Ovals, Classic Frames. These frames were designed to coordinate with the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large Nestabilities.

Inspiration for this card came from this photo and last week's Play Date Cafe Color challenge. This idea has been rattling around in my head for a while. The sentiment is from Back in the Saddle.

Weddings are a definite theme this month. Here I've used two cameos from Cameo To Go to create an elegant Save the Date card.

The patterned paper at the bottom was created with one of the complimentary images from Ovals, Classic Frames. Everything has a healthy coating and spritz of Perfect Pearls for lots of shimmer.

And finally, a sugary sweet confection for you.

These gorgeous cameos are from Cameo Creations. Along with a few open frame images, there is also a father and son cameo! Lots of bang for your buck in this set!

So what do you think? I am excited to hear your first impressions. I will be back tomorrow with previews of two new sets.. I hope you'll stop back! Until then, here are the other Design Team ladies sharing previews! Enjoy!

Have a great day!

Celebrate

Hi there!

I will be short and sweet here today - its Friday night as I write this and Bill's waiting to watch a movie with me. A relaxing night in is just what the doctor ordered. I've got a combo challenge for you today - this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and the Play Date Cafe color challenge. Let's take a look at our challenges, shall we?

We've got another sketch challenge this week from Belinda.

And a festive color story!

Here's my card:

I used Bitty Banners to put together my card. I stamped each banner twice and snipped out the centers to layer for multiple colors. The sentiment is from Asian Gardens Additions.

If you're not into sending cards for Independence Day, it would also be perfect for a birthday near the 4th!

We hope you'll play along with us this week - head to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your creation. In addition to the Top Mice awards, a free stamp set is awarded each week to a random player!

Have a great day!

Life as You Dream It

Good morning! This week's DT challenge at Serendipity Stamps was to create a card based on our 'fantasy' life - the life we would have if we could do whatever we wanted. This was not hard at all for me! If I had unlimited time and money, I would without a doubt travel the world!

The image I chose to use on my card is called Spring in Provence. I thought it would be fun to create it sort of like a post card - I would be traveling, after all!

I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored it with Copics. In my head, I wanted the image to look like a faded photograph - how did I do? I did a bit of poking around before coloring my image.. Provence is in the South of France and is now definitely on my list of places I'd like to see - it looks breathtaking!

Thanks for stopping by today. Please be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see their take on this challenge!

Hi friends!

This week I am posting the Lizzie Anne Designs Weekly Sketch Challenge. This is my first time actually designing a sketch and I kept it pretty simple. Here's the sketch:

And here is the card I came up with, using the fun tiki guy from the Summertime Celebration mix set:

Fun, huh? I think my Dad will love this card for his birthday.

There is more info here on the LAD blog if you'd like to play along!

52 Weeks of WMS Sketches

Wow! Can you believe that today the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is one year old?! I don't know about you, but I've loved the 52 weeks of inspiring sketches that we've had. I keep my old sketches in a notebook that I flip through when I need a little inspiration, so its a gift that keeps on giving! ;) Did you know that there is an archive of all the old sketches in the WMS Gallery?

This week, the Mischief Makers and Design Team members participating have chosen their favorite sketches from the past year to create this week's card. You'll have this pool of sketches to choose from to make your card - isn't that fun? All the details and info you need can be found on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog. I have decided to use WMSC5 for my card this week.

Here is the first card I made with this sketch - it is still sitting out on my shelf, actually!

And here is the card I made for this week, I tweaked the sketch a bit, but that's what its all about - inspiration!

Boy, I love the look of the woodgrain from Way Out West stamped in white! This is a favorite sentiment of mine (from Afternoon Tea Sentiments)- but as much as I love it, I have an overabundant need for encouragement cards right now and that kinda stinks!

The Very Vintage Labels No. 18 frame was embossed in white and cut using my pinking shears.

We hope you'll play along with us this week - head to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your creation. In addition to the Top Mice awards, a free stamp set is awarded each week to a random player!

My sweet friend Julia Aston also has some blog candy to give away this week, so head over to her blog to find out how you can win your own copy of the new Say It Loud set (my favorite)!

Have a great day!

Lizzie Anne June DT Challenge

Hi there, friends! Today is Design Team Challenge day at Lizzie Anne. This month we were challenged to create a project with a summer vacation theme. Perfect timing that we had the new Summertime Celebration Mix Set to use!

For the past few years, a dive trip to Cozumel has been one of our summer events, so I thought the sombrero and maracas would be perfect for my card. Here's the colorful card I came up with:

I started by layering a rainbow of cardstock that I had punched with a scalloped edge. I colored the sombrero and maracas images with Copic markers in coordinating colors. Mexico is always so colorful! I think this would be great as a party invitation, too - for a Fiesta, of course!

I'm so glad you stopped by today, please be sure head over to the Lizzie Anne Designs Blog to see what the other DT members created for the challenge. Have a great day!

LAD Summer Mix Preview

Hi there!

Today I am sharing a preview of the new Lizzie Anne Designs Summer Mix Set, called Summertime Celebration. All the details about the Mix Club can be found here on the LAD website. This is one of my favorite Mix sets so far! There are some really fun images included - and its an extra large set, too!

I'll share a few cards today and then some more later on. The hibiscus flower is one of my favorite stamps from the set.

I stamped the flowers in a few tropical colors and cut them out, adhering them to the side of my card. Sort of reminds me of a lei!

I stamped the sentiment and then stitched it to my card base. The flower centers are all glittered up, too? Can you see them?

My second hibiscus card uses a technique my friend Julia Aston shared, called ghosting.

You start by stamping your image in white pigment ink and letting it dry. Then, you add ink on top of it. It is sort of like emboss resist, but not so intense. It has a neat look, huh? It almost look bleached.

My last card uses the super cute banana split image from the set. I could go for a banana split right now.

I stamped the image and then colored it in with Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to the chocolate syrup... looks yummy!

The papers are Emma's Shoppe from Crate Paper - a sweet sugary perfect fit!

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you like what you've seen so far! Head over to the Lizzie Anne Designs Blog to see what the other DT members have created for the Summer Mix and to find out how you can get your own set!

Birthday Wishes - WMSC51

Good morning, my dears. Do you have exciting plans for your weekend? This morning Bill and I are heading south to do some kayaking and then we're going to swing by a local farm to pick some strawberries. Mmmm I can't wait!

I'm here today to bring you this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. This week's sketch is from Belinda.

Here is the card that I made. I used the colors again from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. I really loved this color combo! Have you played along?

A simple little cutie using images from Asian Gardens. I always forget how much I love this set.

I really like this card - I think it would be a great design for a Christmas card, a Valentine, and a spring card. I would like to make it in a bunch of different colors. It is a good balance of simple but has enough little bits in it to make me feel like the card is complete.

We hope you'll play along with us this week - head to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your creation. In addition to the Top Mice awards, a free stamp set is awarded each week to a random player!

Have a great day!

The Play Date Cafe - Guest Designer

Oooh! I am so excited! This week I am the Guest Designer at The Play Date Cafe!

Here is this week's color story (Challenge #85!) - talk about gorgeous!

The sponsor for this week's challenge is Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker. Be sure to check out the prize and all the contest details at The Play Date Cafe.

And here is the card that I came up with based on this week's color story:

All the stamps I used are from Waltzingmouse - I have decided that Say It Loud is officially my most favorite set.

I built my greeting in one of the images from Very Vintage Labels No. 18 and then cut it out using a pair of pinking shears. This label design in particular seems to work really well with this technique. I stamped one of the half-doily images from Dainty Doilies 2 - Small to create a frame for my label.

I also added in bits from Text It and Gingham & Co. - the color story made me feel a little vintage country with a touch of elegance and I tried to capture that with this card. It really is just sort of a mish mash of everything I love! :)

I can't thank the gals at The Play Date Cafe enough - I love playing along with the challenges and being invited as a Guest Designer has been a real treat. Thanks to you, too, for stopping by. I hope you will play along with this week's challenge - please be sure to check out all the details on The Play Date Cafe blog. The deadline for Challenge #85 is Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:59 pm EST.

Have a fantastic day!

A Gift For You

Hello, my friends. I'm here today with this week's DT challenge for Serendipity Stamps. Today we are creating gift packaging. One of my favorite ways to package up a little something is a gable box - I just think they are so cute. I used this tutorial to make mine.

I used images from the Jar Label Cling Set for the front of my box. I paper pieced the images with patterned paper from October Afternoon. Instead of ribbon or twine to close the box, I thought a mini clothespin would be a fun addition. I love the way this turned out.

Wouldn't this be cute for a little jar of preserves, or even some strawberry-flavored candies? Its the perfect size for a little something.

Please be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see their take on this challenge!

Also be sure to say hello to the newest Serendipity Stamps Design Team member Miriam Napier - welcome, Miriam!

Have a great day!

Aloha!

Hi there, today I thought I would share some samples for the two Simply Singles Lizzie Anne has released this month (two new Simply Singles are released on the 1st of every month).

Perfect for summer, let me introduce you to Surfer Dude and Hula Girl!

These two cuties just needed to be together! I colored both with Copic markers and cut them out. The patterned paper is Emma's Shoppe from Crate Paper. The sentiment is from the Perfect Phrases Sixlets set.

My second card features just the Hula Girl.

I layered petals die cut using the Tattered Florals die from Tim Holtz to create my flower. This sentiment is from the Warmest Wishes mix set, and even though it is intended for winter time, I think it works perfectly here!

Have a great day!

Thanks

Good morning! I can't believe it is Monday again already. Those weekends sure do fly by.

Bill and I were busy, busy in the yard this weekend and accomplished a lot! Everything garden and yard related had been put on hold until we could get our concrete patio poured, and last week that finally happened. So this weekend we hit the greenhouse and picked up the garden plants we wanted, we unpacked all the patio furniture (so excited to have my swing out again!), and just spent the weekend tending the garden and setting up the patio. Last night we had dinner out there and it was fantastic. In case you can't tell, once the weather gets nice around here, I like to spend as much time in my yard as possible. Now that the patio is done, we have a nice little oasis back there where we can sit and relax. It feels really good to finally get ready to cross that project off the list. A trip from the electrician to hook up the lights will be the last step.

Today's card is for this week's Play Date Cafe challenge (PDCC84). I woke up early Saturday morning (I was excited to go to the greenhouse :) and cranked this out before Bill was awake.

The rose and patterned paper are from the For the Record Collection from Echo Park. The rose was cut from the collection cover/index sheet and backed with cardstock - it was the perfect size, why not?

The label is from PTI's Label Basics set and the sentiment is from WMS' Dainty Doilies - Large.

I am really excited to have the opportunity to be to be the Guest Designer for The Play Date Cafe this week! My post goes live on Thursday, the day the new challenge is announced for the week. I'll be sharing here as well as on The Play Date Cafe blog! I can't wait - I love playing along with the PDCC!

I hope your day is fantastic!
