WMS August Release Day Blog Hop

Hi there!

Today is release day! The eight new stamp sets and coordinating dies that we have been sharing for the past few days are available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store.

If you'd like to catch up on what I've created, check out my posts from Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

You should have arrived here from sweet Laurie Schmidlin's blog. The waltz starts over on Claire's blog, so be sure to head there if you're just popping in.

As usual, Blog Waltz prizes are up for grabs! One winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on one of the Design Team blogs, so let us know what you think of the new release! You have until 11:59 PM EST on August 29th to leave your comments. The winner will be announced on the WMS Blog on the 30th.

Today's first card just might be my favorite of the release. I really have enjoyed using the Boo and Friends stamp set - the images are perfect for a non-colorer like me to color, and they are just fun! I know my nieces and nephews will get a kick out of these for Halloween.

The witch ghost was stamped and colored with Copics, then cut out and adhered right to my card front with dimensional foam tape. I added some stars, the speech bubble sentiment, and some glitter for good measure.

My second card is a little different - I debated sharing it, but here it is!

I used one of the accompanying circle images from the Great Big Owl stamp set to stamp a design, then combined it with one of the large words from Hello Happy Thanks. Not quite how it looked in my mind's eye, but you'll have that sometimes (for me, usually!).

I hope you have enjoyed the countdown for this month's release. The products are now available for sale in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store.

Jeanne Jachna will be your next stop along the hop, don't forget to comment for your chance to win! Take care!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release, Day 3

Hi there!

Today I am back with Day 3 of the countdown for the August Release at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

The WMS Design Team has been sharing previews of eight new stamp set and coordinating dies that will be available for purchase tomorrow!

Today we have three more sets to share. I have to be honest - today is the day that I am most excited about. Hello fall stamps!

Previewing today: Boo and Friends, the coordinating Peek a Boo Sentiments, and Great Big Owl.

The Boo and Friends stamp set is an adorably cute Halloween set. The set features Boo (a ghost) with three of her costumed friends. The coordinating Peek a Boo Sentiments provides the coordinating punny lines to go with it. A great stamp set if you're the coloring type!

For my card, I stamped the bat onto gray cardstock and trimmed him out - coordinating dies will be available for all the images in the set!

Next up, the Great Big Owl set. Mr. Owl is a stern fellow, he's not your cutesy big twinkly-eyed type (and I love him)!

Playing around with this set, I was so reminded of the vintage Halloween decorations with the bold colors and slightly 'off' printing. I overlapped both the outline and solid images to achieve the look of this card. The set features a handful of sentiments that fit right there in Mr. Owl's belly, but as you can see, they are great on their own as well. Lots of other little coordinating elements in this set, per Claire's typical style that I am looking forward to combining. Dies will be available for this set, too!

So what do you think? Cutesy Halloween, or spooky Halloween?? Tomorrow we'll be back with our final release day hop - and the sets will be available for purchase - but until then be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team links for today. Enjoy!

Anya Schrier - you are here!

So glad you stopped by! Have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release, Day 2

Hi there!

Today I am back with Day 2 of the countdown for the August Release at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

For the next three days we will be sharing previews of eight new stamp set and coordinating dies that will be available for purchase on August 27th.

Today we have three sets to share. Continuing the baby theme, we have Little Darlings and Little Darlings Sentiments. Also starting the holiday prep with 'Tis the Season.

Little Darlings and Little Darlings Sentiments are an image and sentiment set combo with more lovely Victorian styling. I find recently I am really leaning toward some simpler, cleaner designs, so here's my take on a CAS design with some vintage twist.

Featuring the fabulous pram from Little Darlings:

I stamped and trimmed out the little buggy, layering it on the largest Stitched Tag Die as well as the new Picot Panel. A little row of pink bows completes the design.

A sampling of the elegant phrases from Little Darlings Sentiments:

I combined two phrases for my card - you will love the options in this set!

And finally, a card using 'Tis the Season.

This set features a handful of large scale holiday phrases that will take front and center on your cards. For my card I paired it with the Musical Backgrounds and Festive Foliage sets for a little extra holiday leaning.

So that is it for me today. I hope you like what you've seen so far. I'll be back with more tomorrow, but until then be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team links for today. We will be sharing previews through Wednesday when the sets will be available for purchase. Enjoy!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release, Day 1

Good Morning!

Today I am happy to bring you Day 1 of the countdown for the August Release at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

For the next three days we will be sharing previews of eight new stamp set and coordinating dies that will be available for purchase on August 27th.

Today we are focusing on the Vintage Baby Shower and Hello Happy Thanks stamp sets.

First up, Vintage Baby Shower.

As the name implies, this set is full of vintage baby shower images and elegant sentiments. I stamped the parasol image in the background and layered a sentiment on top. I accented the panel with a pair of the baby booties image. I love that the color combo on this card is feminine, yet it doesn't scream pink.

My second card today highlights the Hello Happy Thanks set along with the new Picot Panel die.

This set features the large focal words 'Hello', 'Happy' and 'Thanks' along with accompanying phrases. I stamped my sentiment onto the Picot Panel die cut and layered it on to more die cuts of the same. Isn't it so elegant and frilly? This card reminds me of a lovely vintage apron.

So that is it for me today. I hope you like what you've seen so far. I'll be back with more tomorrow, but until then be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team links for today. We will be sharing previews through Wednesday when the sets will be available for purchase. Enjoy!

August Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

Hello there!

Welcome to Verve's August Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our August inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

Our August challenge is Sequined Stunner:

Sequins are the perfect embellishment - sparkly, affordable and with lots of texture. Add some sequins to your project this month to make it a sequined stunner! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not.

Who doesn't love to use sequins in their card making?  Verve has a great selection of these little sparklers, and my favorite is by far is the Shine Bright Sequin Mix.   I used them on my card today along with some of the sets from the new release.

I like how the sequins look like little seeds floating from the flowers.  Or bubbles :)  They have such a pretty shimmery sparkle.

The flowers are from the newly released Happy Place stamp set (and were stamped onto the coordinating die cut from the Happy Doodles Die Set).  I used the Peaceful Medallions set to create the patterned background panel.

My starting point was this week's Viva la Verve challenge sketch:

Need a little more inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines!
