Happy Friday! Welcome to the February Waltzingmouse Blog Party. If you just happened to stop by (thank you!) we would love it if you could join us. You can find all the Blog Party details on the Waltzingmouse Blog.
This month's theme is 'looking forward to Spring' - and I am! Even though we have had a very mild winter this year, I am certainly looking forward to the changing of the seasons. I have noticed that the birds have started singing, and my spring daffodils have even started to poke up from the soil. There's no going back now!
Here is the card that I created for today's hop.
I combined images from L'il Buddies and Spring Baskets. The whimsical line images in both of these sets coordinate so well together. I started by stamping the bunny first and then the daffodils. I used a mask for both images when stamping so that I could give the illusion that the bunny was sitting in a little patch of daffodils. I cut my masks from post-it notes and store them on the plastic sheet from the set they coordinate with. It can be time consuming to cut a mask out, so its nice to be able to get multiple uses out of it.
I colored the images with Copic markers. When I was in Amsterdam a few years ago, we visited the Tulip Museum and I signed up for a catalog of spring flower bulbs. Not only does the catalog have tulip bulbs, but the most amazing variety of daffodils as well... so many different yellows and peachy colors. I thought it would be fun to tap into that when coloring my flowers.
A little stitching and a punched border finished it off. A cheery little card!
I hate to be a tease (ok, I kind of don't ;), but before you go I just wanted to share that the new Waltzingmouse February release arrived in my mailbox on Wednesday. It is *fabulous*.. I can't wait for you to see - and you won't have to wait long, sneak peeks will start tomorrow lucky ducks!
So I'm sure you have tons of other blogs to visit, so I apologize for being chatty, but I'm glad you stopped by. Have a super day!

ReplyDeleteSuper spring card, Anya! Appreciate the masking effort - it paid off well. I store my masks the same way, but I use Eclipse paper tape from Judikins. Seems to last a little longer than post it notes due to the finish. Now why do I not have that bunny in my inventory? Must rectify it immediately! LOL!
