I have big can't-believe-I-kept-it-quiet-for-so-long news today!
I am designing stamps for Waltzingmouse! And this month my first set comes out! And today we're sharing peeks of it!
Can you believe it? (I can't. Its crazy.) I have no words to describe my gratitude towards Claire - she is one of the best.
Today is Day 3 of the countdown, tomorrow we'll have the traditional release day blog hop and the sets will be available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse store. Today we are sharing previews of two more sets: Heirloom Patterns (from yours truly!) and Compact Sentiments.
Heirloom Patterns is a background building set featuring five different designs including a cane pattern, a harlequin pattern, pin stripes, and two scales of houndstooth. Yay, houndstooth! Each image averages six inches wide, so they easily span a standard vertical or horizontal card front, just like all of WMS's background stamps.
Compact Sentiments is a delicious little sentiment set perfect for a variety of occasions, sized to fit in Claire's Spellbinders-compatible label images, and designed using one of the most yummiest fonts.
This card was created with this week's Play Date Cafe Color Challenge in mind. Three different patterned strips were a great way to combine colors and keep me from having to choose which one to use first!
The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed right on top of the pattern. Goodness, isn't that font perfect?
Here is another simple card which features the pin stripe background. It adds just a subtle touch for when you need a little something.
I combined it here with the cherry blossoms from Asian Gardens, the small scale Chicken Wire pattern, and another Compact Sentiment.
This is a little fun - who can resist a rainbow? I've always loved them. This card was really quite easy, just some fancy inking. The houndstooth background from Heirloom Patterns was inked in two colors at a time, moving on down the rainbow. Starting with the lighter color of the two and then adding in the darker (pink then red, yellow then orange) helped to create a natural blending between colors. It also serves as a testament to how easy it is to line up the images - easy!
The sentiment was stamped onto a die-cut circle, and accented with rhinestones.
Finishing off my cards for today is this little number. The background pattern for this card was created simply by stamping the harlequin background repeatedly in different colors. The first pass was in gray, the second pass was in yellow and slightly offset, and the final pass was in blue, filling in the gaps.
Now, I completely understand if you aren't a background person - but this is pure bliss to me. I love just playing around and I encourage you to give it a try. You don't always end up with a winner (as the first 3 tries of this prove...) but you might come up with something you love. (Plus, don't you wonder what a pattern like this would look like in Christmas colors?)
I kept the rest of the card simple, adding a sentiment and the felt flowers. This really might be my favorite of the bunch.
Thank you for sticking it out this far! I am really looking forward to your thoughts on today's previews. The other Design Team members who will be sharing projects are:
I just cannot wait to see what amazing things these ladies have created! They are all rock stars, aren't they?!
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the recognition of your talent! The last card is my favorite, too. Love the effect of your technique for the background... it looks like soft flannel, or felt, so your flowers are perfect for an embellishment. Wish me luck when I try that overstamping technique! I'm sure color selection is the primary consideration and I have hit and miss luck with that.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Anya! I am so happy for you in your new venture. Your stamps are so cute and how great you made a cane print, never seen that anywhere other than an impression plate, so how wonderful to have stamps too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful little CAS cards! These new sentiments do, indeed, make for some easy projects!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS so great for you!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the stamps you designed!
Gorgeous cards.
Congrats!!! How fun it must be to play around with your own creations!! All the cards are great, but that last one is my favorite: I love the idea of stamping the background three times, just barely offset. Looks great!!
