Aloha!

Hi there, today I thought I would share some samples for the two Simply Singles Lizzie Anne has released this month (two new Simply Singles are released on the 1st of every month).

Perfect for summer, let me introduce you to Surfer Dude and Hula Girl!

These two cuties just needed to be together! I colored both with Copic markers and cut them out. The patterned paper is Emma's Shoppe from Crate Paper. The sentiment is from the Perfect Phrases Sixlets set.

My second card features just the Hula Girl.

I layered petals die cut using the Tattered Florals die from Tim Holtz to create my flower. This sentiment is from the Warmest Wishes mix set, and even though it is intended for winter time, I think it works perfectly here!

Have a great day!

A Good Friend

Hi there. How have you been? I hope your Mother's Day was an enjoyable one. We had some last-minute plan changes for our weekend, but it all worked out.

My kitchen is coming along nicely - its about 2/3 finished, but all the moving and maneuvering is done so hopefully the rest will go smoothly. I moved a new pantry into the room as well as built a counter top/cupboard combo and installed a shelf. I am pretty head-over-heels about the counter top and shelf. Work space and storage were not abundant in the old setup. I will share some pictures as things move along.

My craft room has been neglected, and right now I'm not so sure I miss it. I am feeling the need for a bit of a recharge, so I'm just going with the flow.

But, regardless of that, I do have some cards to share with you today that I made with the two new Simply Singles that Lizzie Anne released this month, called Favorite Jeans and A Good Friend. Love it when the Singles go so well together :)

For this card, I created a pattern by stamping the Favorite Jeans stamp all over my paper. I colored one pair in with an Aqua Painter and an ink pad. Don't they look all worn and comfy? Then I used the A Good Friend single to add my complimentary sentiment.

For my second card, I broke out some patterned paper and created a fun patchwork card.

I punched all the little squares out with a 3/4-inch square punch and adhered them to a piece of cardstock. Then I die-cut it with a circle Nestability. The jeans were paper pieced, and I added a tiny rhinestone for the button. I just included the first part of the sentiment on the front of my card...

.. and continued the rest of the sentiment on the inside. Cute!

Thank you for stopping by today, I appreciate you taking the time to visit! Have a great day!

LAD April Singles

Happy Wednesday. It is raining here. Again. I am giving serious thought to never getting out of bed again.

I uploaded today's cards to the Lizzie Anne Sketchbook, but haven't yet shared them here. Lizzie Anne released two new Simply Singles for April, and these are the cards I created using them.

Here is the first, using the Mother Defined single.

I used the Starburst single to create my background pattern.

I stamped the Mother Defined single twice and cut out one of the words so I could pop it up on my image. You could easily do this with any of the words listed if you wanted to highlight something else.

The second single released for April is So Very Sorry.

For cards like these, I really like to use some kind of printed image. I don't know why, it just helps me to focus on the sentiment, I guess. For this card I used a tag from 7Gypsies and adhered everything to a Wilton doily.

I accented my sentiment with a fancy pin tied with some silk ribbon. I stuck my pin through the foam dimensionals used to adhere my sentiment. It was an easy way to get it where I wanted it!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you have a great day!

LAD March Singles Release

Hi there! How is your day going?

Today I wanted to share some cards I made using the two new Simply Singles that Lizzie Anne Designs released for March.

Here is my first card, using the Ageless Single.

I combined the fun sentiment single with the birthday cake from Vintage Birthday.

Here's a close up of the sparkly birthday cake and the popped up sentiment. This is very clean for me!

My next card uses the Hope Single. I love this verse.

I combined the sentiment with an image trimmed from a 7Gypsies tag. I love the birdies!

Such an appropriate sentiment for the season - it feels like spring is just around the corner (at least I hope so!).

For those of you that receive Lizzie Anne's newsletter, keep an eye out for the spotlight on yours truly this month! I am also sharing a project created special for this month's edition. For those of you that would like to receive the newsletter, (it has new product, event, and sale information also) you can sign up here!

February Singles Release

Hi there! How are you?

Today Lizzie Anne is releasing two new Simply Singles for February (in addition to the six other sets being released today!)

The first is called Number Block.

I love the look of this image stamped repeatedly, and it is so versatile. Combined with a cute birthday sentiment (the new Perfect Phrases) you've got a cute birthday card!

The second Single is called Funky Happy Birthday and coordinates with the new Tweens and Teens set.

I can't wait to try coloring this image! I love the doodled look to it.

Welcome, 2011!

Happy New Year!! I hope 2011 is your best year yet. I am getting quite excited about a big trip that Bill and I are taking, which is coming up very soon! I'll share more about that later - for now I am going to hit the ground running here in the New Year.. I was a little lazy for the past week, but we're back in business!

Today Lizzie Anne is releasing two new Simply Singles for January.

The first is called Love You a Latte, and it is so cute for Valentine's Day!

I paired this image with some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Chemistry collection, which is one of my favorites. I stamped the cup and saucer on the index sheet of the Crafting Kit to get the smaller scale pattern - a trick I learned from Debbie Olson!

My next card uses the second Single to be released, called Wise Man's Treasure. So appropriate for welcoming a new year!

I stamped the image onto my cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used a few different Distress Inks to create the gradient background. I paired it with a card base that I had 'messy-stitched' with my sewing machine. I adhered the image to the card with my Tiny Attacher (love this) and then added a few buttons. I really like the layout of this card, in addition to the message!

I'm so glad you stopped by today. Be sure to head over to the Lizzie Anne Blog to check out the other previews of the new singles.

Happy New Year! Hopefully we'll be watching the Winter Classic today!

Sugarplum Fairy Sprite

Hiya!

I am here on this frosty day with a card I made using Sprite, the other Simply Single released this month by Lizzie Anne.

I thought she looked like a good Sugarplum Fairy! Every year Bill and I see the Nutcracker ballet as part of our holiday traditions.

I colored my fairy with Copic markers and paired her with some snowflakey paper - just to reinforce her winterness! :) She's a cutie with her glittered up wings, but she looks like she needs some socks!

I'm just about to upload her into the Lizzie Anne Sketchbook, a fantastic resource for crafty things made using Lizzie Anne products. Have you checked it out yet? Inspiration abounds!

Tomorrow starts the previews for the Waltzingmouse November release. I'll be sharing previews each day up through the release (Nov 4 - 7) and you won't want to miss them! Claire will post on the WMS blog each day as to who is participating - I think we're almost a full house this month! See you then!

Merry and Bright

Good morning!

Today Lizzie Anne is releasing two Simply Singles for November. I used the Starbusrt single on my card. I also used the sketch for this week, too!

Here is my card:

I stamped and embossed the Starburst image on strips of red, green, and kraft cardstock (from my sweet friend Mona's first color challenge - even though I'm too late :) and assembled it on my card using the sketch as my example. The sentiment is from Deck the Halls, I thought it was a perfect fit!

Look for the other Lizzie Anne DT members sharing previews of the singles, the other is a cutie - I'll share that card soon!

Have a super day!
