Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello there! Today is the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Blog Party. The theme for this month's party is birthdays. I love birthdays! I'm all for a day of celebration (and cake!).

I took the opportunity to create a birthday card for a dear friend, and am quite excited to have the chance to hand-deliver it (which makes up for the fact that its late, right?).

I stamped the background with the herringbone stamp from Little Box Labels. I stamped it on a diagonal, just to mix things up a bit.

The sentiment is a combination of words from Compact Sentiments and Compact Family. I love that it says just a bit more than Happy Birthday - a card for one of my best friends should be a little less formal, after all. :)

I layered the cake and stand from Eat Cake onto the sentiment panel. The flower centers were glittered with Lavender Stickles, keeping with my purple palette.

So excited to be able to give this to her in person!

If you'd like to join us for this month's Blog Party, create a birthday-themed project and head over to the Waltzingmouse Blog and link it up. You have until 1:30 pm EST tomorrow before the links are closed.

And real quick, before I jet off - my little contest will be open for another day or so.  Go check it out, you could win some Distress Inks! :)

Have a super day!

  7. Hi Anya :: wave wave:: so sorry it's been a while since i peeked in here, but am glad this blog party is giving me a good excuse. I love how you combined two compact sentiments together to make a stunning whole big sentiment. I keep forgetting to look at ways to combine sentiments across my set. The other amazing part is your bg - perfect stamped and the great monochromatic elements to tie it all together. YUM!
