Hello and happy Thursday!
**Just a note, this is my second post for today, so please scroll down or click here if you've come here looking for my Cloud9 August Blog Hop card! Thanks!
Welcome to The Play Date Cafe Challenge #144! Before I get started, I want to say a quick welcome to cutie patootie Jen Cuthbertson who is joining us on the Design Team! Yay Jen!
This week's color story is bold, bright, and really packs a punch! Get a load of this:
Fabulous!
I thought some paper piecing would be in order for this rainbow of colors, so I pulled out the hot air balloon from the Half Pint Heroines set.
My first stop was a little browsing of my patterned papers. I chose the colors I wanted to use and then got to work. I stamped the balloon image onto my Oatmeal cardstock first, then onto the different colored patterned papers. I carefully cut out the pieces I needed from the different papers and adhered them to my card with a glue pen.
A little bit of masking added my heroine to the basket and a few clouds to the sky to complete the scene. This is fussy cutting to the extreme, but so enjoyable to me (a little crazy, I know!).
I used an Aquapainter and Perfect Pearls to add some shimmer to the clouds and I colored my half pint heroine with Copics. I added a scalloped strip of pink cardstock and an orange button to ground my sentiment. Perfect in every way for a little heroine of your own!
I hope you will be inspired to join us this week. You can link up your creation over at The Play Date Cafe Blog. You have through Tuesday, August 14th to play along. While you're there, you can check out the Cup of the Week prize from our fabulous challenge sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!
Now that sure is a good reason to play along, right? See you there!
