PPRS Sneak Peek

This month Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps is releasing two new sets of clear stamps with coordinating dies. The two sets, which include the Birdcage and Hot Air Balloon sets, will be available for purchase on July 19th. Sold separately, these sets coordinate beautifully to create stamped images that can be die cut perfectly around the shape.

To celebrate the new release, PPRS is hosting a Blog Hop on July 19th and 20th. You’ll have the chance to share what you think of the new products and of course, the chance to win!

Dreams Come True

I am sorry for being such a bad blogger! I have been zooming in a million different directions. Busy, busy!

Today I'm sharing a card made for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

I stamped the Flourished Diploma & Hat in Memento Ink and colored the image with Copics. To add some pizzaz, I went over some areas with a VersaMark pen and embossed them in gold. The sentiment was also embossed in gold.

Finished the top and bottom of the card off with some paper piercing. I know that kids are still having graduation parties around here!

I also need to tell you (I keep forgetting) that this Saturday is the Friends of WMS Blog Waltz.

Hi everyone! How are you?

This weekend was Pittsburgh's Rubber Stamp show - its just a dinky thing, but all we get! My friend Josette and I go together every year and usually make a B-line for the Stampers Anonymous booth (we're both gaga for their display and selection of Tim Holtz products) but this year we found another booth that we loved.

It was from The Stampsmith, based out of New York. They specialize in super-detailed photo art stamps. We did a make & take using their new Landscapes plates, but I just loved their vintage images. They have a lot of movie stars (think Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield) and oodles of vintage images. They are made from photographs, so they are really detailed and fun to play with! I picked up the Fruit Crate Labels plate and another that I'll share later :)

I got to stamping right away!

I used the image of the Pear label, and colored it with a selection of my lightest Copic markers. I paired (hah!) it with some paper from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird collection, and some other odds and ends. Good stuff! I can't wait to see what the other labels look like inked up.

WMSC5 - Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday! Today I'm back with the weekly Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge after taking a break last week for the new release. Maybe some of you have had your new orders arrive? I can't wait to see what you make!

I adore this card! The flowers and leaves are from the Rescue Remedies set. The large flowers punch out perfectly with a 1-inch circle punch. I trimmed the small flowers and leaves with my detail scissors, and inked the edges of everything with some Antique Linen Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases - I masked off the 'Belated' portion of the sentiment and suddenly I have a whole new sentiment! I love a two-for-one! :)

The background was embossed with the Herringbone Cuttlebug folder and stitched around the outside. My color combination was a happy accident - I had some new wrinkle ribbon laying on my desk and these three colors were side-by-side. I love it!

Hello!

Hi there! How is your day going? I'm feeling a little tired today but I'm itching to make something. The trick will be not feeling overwhelmed when I sit down to create.

Here is a little card for you today that I made a while back.

I apologize for the picture, but those buttons just wouldn't show up.

I stamped the dashed flower pattern from Pic-Nic Patterns onto Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart, and Hawaiian Shores cardstock. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases. The buttons are threaded together with twine and adhered to the card.

I thought I'd finish up with a few more pictures from our dive trip to Cozumel. We saw at least one turtle on every dive!

Fancy Flower Flip Flops!

I love these cuties!


This pair was part of my present for my good friend Julie.. I loved the way they turned out and set out to make a pair for myself. Then I showed my mom and she wanted a pair, too!

These were made using Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse, and Vintage Cream felt from PTI. These are Betsy Veldman's flowers, and I love how full and fluffy they are. I stitched everything together in addition to using a little glue. The flip flops came from Michaels - only $1! I made a pair for myself using Hawaiian Shores instead of Raspberry Fizz... they are supah cute!

Its summer time! Make a fun pair of flip flops for yourself!

Queen for a Day

Yesterday was my friend Julie's birthday. She lives too far away from me in Los Angeles, so I boxed up some goodies and sent them her way. This is the card I made for her, using some new stamps from Prickley Pear.

This is the 50s Lady stamp. I paper pieced her skirt with a pattern from the Material Girl collection from Cosmo Cricket. I colored the rest with Copics.

The sentiment was stamped and then trimmed apart, each piece adhered with foam dimensionals. I added some crazy stitching and some threaded vintage buttons (aren't they wonderful? I love when they are a little dirty or discolored.. just a great touch!).

Ok! Just some playing around..

Does anyone else like to decorate their stamp space with hand-made creations? I love to make tags, and thought it would be fun to combine the new Victorian Alphabet and Victorian Fripperie sets for some fun stamp space decor.

I pulled out my pack of Life's Journey patterned paper from K&Company. I am a confessed patterned-paper-collection-hoarder, so I am always so proud of myself when I pull this pack out! It really goes well with the WMS stamps.. has the same fun, vintage 'feel'!

I topped my tag off with a big silk bow. I love this ribbon, it makes such a beautiful bow. I enjoyed using the Victorian Alphabet - the font is clean yet classy. My dear friend Dina just welcomed a beautiful baby girl into her family a few weeks ago and I can't wait to use the alphabet to make a name plaque for little Abigail. Hoping for some time over the weekend!

I couldn't resist the pull of Rescue Remedies!

'Twas fate that brought this project together! First I found the adorable purple plaid tin at Michaels. And then I found this ridiculous (as in ridiculously delicious) recipe for Brownie Pillow Cookies from Bakerella. Then, of course, there was a label for Hand-Baked Goods in the Rescue Remedies set. I couldn't ignore the signs any longer!

I stamped my label in Perfect Plum and used Off Beat Backgrounds to create a plaid pattern to mat my tag. I added some flower accents and a strip of felt.

You're waiting for a peek inside, aren't you?

Yum. These will certainly stimulate the appetite, but I'm not sure what tone they will give to the stomach!
