WMS June Release Day Blog Hop

Hello there!

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release Day Blog Hop. Today, the eight new Waltzingmouse stamp sets we've been previewing for the past few days will be available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store.

You should have arrived here from the fabulously talented Laurie Schmidlin's blog. The waltz starts over on Claire's blog, so be sure to head there if you're just popping in.

As usual, Blog Waltz prizes are up for grabs! One winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on one of the Design Team blogs, so let us know what you think of the new release! You have until 6:59 AM EST on July 2nd to leave your comments. The winner will be announced on the WMS Blog on the 4th.

Jumping right in, a bright and cheery little number using You're A Doll.

As mentioned in my previous post about You're A Doll, the set has different sized nesting dolls to customize and mix. For this card, I used the middle size, stamping the tops and bottoms separately in different colors. I used markers to ink the faces and then punched them out using a 1/2" circle punch. The background was created using some of the little coordinating images found in the set.

My next card uses Funky Feathers.

I used one of the feather stamps and stamped it in a color gradient across the card. I love how it turned out. Since I am currently obsessed with the color gray, I thought I would try using a gradient of grays, starting with black up top. Adore this set!

We have the whole Design Team joining us today for the hop, so I won't keep you. Thank you so much for your visits and kind words over the past few days. It means so much to me that you stop by and share your thoughts.

Iwona will be your next stop along the hop! Take care!

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release, Day 3

Good Morning!

Welcome back to the Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release countdown.

Claire and the Design Team are sharing previews of the eight new sets that will be available for purchase on June 30. Today, we are previewing two sets: Big Berry - Cherry and Country Labels 14. I am sharing a sneak peek of Big Berry - Cherry.

Another set in the Big Berries line (check out Strawberry here), these babies are huge!

See? I told you!

I love this card - cute country goodness. The stem, leaf, and cherry parts are all separate, so you can ink and position anywhere you like. The set also includes an appropriately punny sentiment :)

For my second card, I used the polka dot and houndstooth circles that come in the set. While I can't wait to see how adorable houndstooth cherries will be, I used them to make a simple card sans cherry.

The sentiment is from the Funky Feathers set and the pretty little flower is from You're A Doll. These sets were previewed on Thursday and Friday.

Today is our last day of previews, tomorrow we will be having our Release Day Blog Hop. It all starts at 2pm EST when the sets will be available for purchase in the store! Here are the rest of the Design Team links for today. Enjoy!

Anya Schrier - you are here!

So glad you stopped by! Have a super day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release, Day 2

Good Morning!

Welcome back to the Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release countdown.

Claire and the Design Team are sharing previews of the eight new sets that will be available for purchase on June 30. Today, four sets are being previewed. I am sharing a sneak peek of Funky Feathers and the Crackle Background.

Funky Feathers is fabulous! The set has a handful of different feather images that tend towards the retro modern styling. They are a new favorite.

A peacock feather. Swoon! Stamped in rainbow colors makes it even more wonderful. I can't wait to use this set more - these feathers just scream to be made into beautiful background paper.

I layered my rainbow feathers onto a piece of silver glitter cardstock so it just peeks out the bottom. This was adhered to my gray card base that was stamped with the full size Crackle Background. A fun, fun pattern.

My next card was inspired by a pillow I saw on Pinterest.

While this didn't turn out quite like I had envisioned it, I do love the resist ink technique with the Crackle Background. I started by inking up a piece of cardstock with a little Antique Linen DI. Then I stamped and clear heat embossed the Crackle Background (just like yesterday's card). I trimmed the cardstock into three strips and then inked each of them with a different Distress Ink color. I liked the earthy palette on the pillow, so I pulled similar colors for my card. The feathers were stamped and trimmed, and as a final touch, I added a row of tiny gold pearls to each feather. This little touch totally made it for me, and changed the whole feel of the card. It is growing on me.

So that's it for me today - you will definitely be seeing more of these Funky Feathers from me!

The DT will be sharing previews through Saturday and the sets will be available for purchase on Sunday, so be sure to stop by tomorrow to see more of the June release. Here are the rest of the Design Team links for today. Enjoy!

So glad you stopped by! Have a super day!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #188

ETA: Good morning! This is my second post for today. To see my Day 1 preview post for the Waltzingmouse Stamps June release, please scroll down or click here!

Hello there!

The week is almost over.. another month almost flown by! It is time once again for me to share this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge.

This week's color story is a girlie, romantic one featuring raspberry, pastel pink, and lilac.

I needed a birthday card for a very special little girl, so this week's colors were a perfect starting point.

I used the balloon stamps from Verve's Birthday Bash set on this card. I stamped everything first on my card base and then paper pieced it from the colored cardstock. Star Dust Stickles add some glittery touches.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge! You can link up your creation over at The Play Date Cafe Blog. You have through Tuesday, July 2nd to play along. While you're there, you can check out the Cup of the Week prize from this week's challenge sponsor, Elizabeth Mindemann, an independent Close to my Heart consultant! She is offering a beautiful stamp set for this week's prize.

I can't wait to see what you create! I hope you'll join us!

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release, Day 1

Good Morning!
Today I am happy to bring you Day 1 of the countdown for the June Release at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

For the next three days we will be sharing previews of the eight new sets that will be available for purchase on June 30. Kicking things off today is a super fun, fabulous set called You're a Doll and the coordinating mini You're a Doll Additions. If you love the Matryoshka nesting doll trend, then you will need today's sets!

I don't want to give too much away, but the You're a Doll set offers so many options for creating your own nesting dolls. Different tops and bottoms, faces, sizes.. it is all so much fun. For this card I used one of the larger dolls, choosing a gingham top to go along with the solid bottom. So much fun to play with!

My second card features this gorgeous floral image from the set. I loved it as soon as I saw it, and wanted to create a background using it. I stamped it on a card base with Versamark and then clear embossed the flowers. I used Distress Inks to add a gradient of color to the background, then I flicked some Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls to add some gold flecks. The sentiment is from the You're a Doll Additions set, and was heat embossed in gold.

We will be sharing previews through Saturday and the sets will be available for purchase on Sunday, so be sure to stop by tomorrow to see more of the June release. Here are the rest of the Design Team links for today. Enjoy!

Adjusting the Sails

Hi there.

I feel like it has been quite some time since I sat down and created for the heck of it. Life is overwhelming right now; Bill and I have been looking for a new home for the past few months and last week finally found one that we love. We put an offer on it right away, and are now playing the waiting game while it is sorted between attorneys (it is an estate). I feel like my insides are in a constant state of turmoil.. the anxiety has kind of reached a fever pitch at this point. Keep your fingers crossed for us, we are hoping to hear very soon. It is exciting and scary, the planning potential and just the chance for change. If you follow me on Pinterest, you know I've been pinning up a storm.

The June Waltzingmouse Stamps release begins on Thursday, and hopefully my mojo can cooperate with me to pull something together. In the meantime, I tried to kick things off by playing with some new Verve Stamps and this week's Viva la Verve! sketch challenge.

This week's sketch is brought to us from the fabulous Janelle Stollfus.

I flipped the sketch to add extra room for my tall sentiment.

The sentiment is the Adjusted Sails Plain Jane, and I just love it. I combined it with the Strong Anchor set, a perfect compliment. The background was stamped with the rope border image from Strong Anchor; the ship wheel is also in the set. A coordinating Nautical Die Set for the wheel and the anchor are also available. As a finishing touch, I took a little bit of string and wound it around the sentiment. A dab of glue here and there helps to keep the winding design.

If you'd like to play along with this week's VLV Sketch Challenge, head over to the Viva la Verve! thread and link on up!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you soon!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #187

Hello there!

Wow, can you believe it is Thursday already? Time for me to share this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge.

We have a fun combo this week featuring orange zest, chartreuse, and jade.

Inspired by the color story photos, I stamped a fun patterned background using the solid chevron stamp from Verve's Borderline set.

I stamped all the blue chevrons, leaving enough space to fit the green in when I was done. I flipped the stamp so the green chevrons go in the other direction :) This pattern kind of makes my eyes go wacky, but it certainly is festive! The sentiment is from the Birthday Bash set. I don't know about you, but it seems like I always need birthday cards. A few scattered buttons finishes this one off.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge! You can link up your creation over at The Play Date Cafe Blog. You have through Tuesday, June 25th to play along. While you're there, you can check out the Cup of the Week prize from our fabulous challenge sponsor, Avery Elle!

I can't wait to see what you create!  I hope you'll join us!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge #14

Hi there!

It is time once again for a new challenge on the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is called Basket Case. This is right up my alley, I am feeling like a pretty accomplished basket case recently ;)

Serendipity has a beautiful selection of basket images, there is even a Basket Category of the store. I used the Basket of Yarn image on my card.

A beautiful image to color. I love all the different choices for yarn colors - I think a basket full of all different shades of pink or peach would be so pretty, too.

Stop over to the Challenge Blog for all the details and to see the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team:

Feeling inspired? See some basket images you can't live without? You're in luck - this week's special is 20% off the Basket Images in the store. The special ends 6/26. Happy shopping!

Thanks for stopping by, take care!

Hello there!

Welcome to Thursday, and this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge.

It is color splash week! Yay! We always love to see the amazing things you do with just a splash of color. This week we're splashing with nectarine:

I had the perfect set to use for this week, just arrived and waiting to see some ink: Milk & Cookies from Wplus9.

So fun! This little card found its way into my husband's bag. This set has the perfect sentiments for that special someone that are lovey without being sappy. Really, because what could be a better comparison than the pairing of milk and cookies?

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge! You can link up your creation over at The Play Date Cafe Blog. You have through Tuesday, June 18th to play along. While you're there, you can check out the Cup of the Week prize from our fabulous challenge sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

Over Coffee

Hello and good morning!

How is your week going? I'm still working to shake this little bug that I have caught, but I am feeling much better. Today I have some Verve goodness to share with you - I wanted to play along with this week's Viva la Verve! Sketch Challenge.

Maureen Plut is bringing us this week's fabulous sketch:

Here's what I whipped up with Maureen's fun design:

I think this Better With You coffee set is so much fun.

I started my card by die cutting a circle from cork patterned paper. I cut the circle in half and stamped each with the coffee rings image and adhered it to my card base.  The sentiment panel was first stamped with the java text repeatedly to create a background design.  I stamped this off on scratch paper first so the ink wasn't so dark on my card.  I used the cute little coffee mug this time, paper piecing it for a pop of color.  A little twine bow and button finish it off.

Won't you join us for this week's Viva la Verve! sketch challenge? You can link your creation here in the VLV Splitcoast thread. Be sure to check out the VLV Master Challenge Thread where you can get all the details on how to be eligible for Verve's monthly prize!

Have a great day!

Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

Hello there!

Today I am excited to be joining the Reverse Confetti Design Team for their monthly Blog Hop. We are sharing inspiration using Reverse Confetti's first four stamp sets that were released in May. The blog hop starts over on the Reverse Confetti Blog. If you're just stopping by, you should head there first to get all the blog hop details. If you've arrived here from Amy's Blog, then you are in the right place!

Here is my card for today, using the Happy Harbor set:

I was inspired by a bag I saw with a green and navy repeating pattern. I pulled out the cute little seahorse from the set to replicate it on a card.

After stamping the background with the seahorse image, I embossed the sentiment in gold and added a vintage gold button. Lovely! I'm a big fan of this color combo.

Have you added any Reverse Confetti stamps to your collection? I don't know how you could resist this adorable Happy Harbor set!

The other three sets are fabulous, too - Peacock Pretties is on my wish list!

Be sure and join the Reverse Confetti Design Team on the 8th of every month for more Reverse Confetti inspiration! Now it’s time to hop on over to Dawn's blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti Blog.

Hope you have a great Saturday!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #185

Good morning. How are you doing? It is Thursday once again and I am here to bring you this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge. I just love being a part of the team to bring you these challenges each week. This week's colors are magenta, teal, and light gray.

Pretty, no? I just love that skirt!

This week we were sponsored by Great Impressions, and they provided us with some cutie images to work with. Here is the card that I made.

I used the Sweet Hedgehog image along with the Never Give Up sentiment. I stretched this week's colors just a tad to fit with the design, but I think it totally works! Don't you just love that cute little hedgehog?

So, what are you waiting for? Jump in and join us this week! You can link up your creation over at The Play Date Cafe Blog. You have through Tuesday, June 11th to play along. While you're there, you can check out the Cup of the Week prize, so sweetly provided by Great Impressions!

Hope you have a great day!

June Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

Hello!

Welcome to the June Verve Diva Inspirations Hop!

This is a regular feature on the 5th of the month and is a chance to breathe some new life into some much-loved Verve stamps and dies. Leaving a comment enters you into a drawing to win a $30 gift certificate to Verve Stamps! You are on the right track if you've arrived here from Amy's blog. The hop is kicking off on the Verve blog, so be sure to head there to get all the details!

Verve has such a great selection of sentiment and flowers sets, I truly can't help but want to put the two together each time. I needed a birthday card for a friend and, inspired by the bold colors of her gift wrapping, made this card.

This card pairs Sunny Days with Brighter Days. What a pair! We could all use some brighter, sunnier days :)

I stamped my flowers and colored them with Copics. The flowers centers were punched from navy cardstock and adhered with dimensional foam adhesive. Then I liberally applied some Stickles for crazy sparkle. I used the very handy Leafy Sprigs Die Set to die cut the leaves which may just be my favorite part). Adore those Brighter Days sentiments, too.

That will do it for me today.. sweetie Betty Wright is your next stop along the hop!

Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge #13

Hi there!

It is time once again for a new challenge on the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. The challenge this week was to add some Zentangle artwork to our cards. If you aren't familiar with Zentangle, it is basically elaborate doodling. Go check out the website if you'd like more info. Being not a Zentangle pro, I basically added very non-elaborate doodling to my card. I tried to just doodle without getting too caught up - you know, the pass the time, waiting for the meeting to be over kind of doodling.

I started by stamping The Little Things sentiment in the center of my card and let my doodling free-form around it. When I was finished, I went in with some Copic markers to add a little color (shame on me).

Stop over to the Challenge Blog for all the details and to see the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team:

Also be sure to check out the details about this week's challenge prize, a set of 30 alcohol ink-based markers donated by Marvy Uchida. Serendipity's special this week is buy 3 items, get 1 free through 6/12. There are also tons of wood-mounted stamps on sale. Go check them out!

Thanks for stopping by, take care!
