Wplus9 October Release - Day 2

I can't get started on today's creations before I sincerely thank each of you for your amazingly sweet words yesterday. Such a boost just at the right time, thank you!

Ok! So glad you have joined me for Day 2 of the Wplus9 October release. Today's set will be a new-found favorite for you, I promise! Iconic Christmas is exactly that - a fabulous set of classic Christmas silhouette images and *gorgeous* sentiments! And of course, there is a set of coordinating dies that makes crafting with this set a snap!

I started with Jolly Old St. Nick!

These images are solid silhouettes, so I thought I'd try being a little fancy and making Santa technicolor. I started by stamping him in red. Then I paper pieced his boots and his list. I used a Versamark pen to selectively ink the areas I ultimately wanted to be white - the trim on his coat, his hat, beard and face. Then I went ahead and heat embossed these areas with detail white embossing powder. I used a Copic marker to roughly add the skin tones to his face.

I split the sentiment up by selectively inking each part before stamping. I so love this font - it is just gorgeous!

Next up is a tag, one of my favorite things to create.

I started by inking up the tag with a combination of blue Distress Inks. Then I stamped it with a background from Defining Words in white ink. Next, I die cut a few snowflakes from the new Simple Snowflake Die to use as a mask. I laid the die cut snowflakes on my tag and gave the whole thing a healthy spritz of silver shimmer.

It is very subtle, you can see it best on an angle, but you can see a bit of the snowflake on the top left of the tag in the photo below.

I die cut the carolers, the lamp post and the wreath before stamping the coordinating images. The wreath is a two-stepper - the bow and berries are separate. Love!

Don't you just want to hug Dawn for bringing this stamp set into your life? I do - I love it!

And another quickie before I let you go... Wplus9 will be carrying these yummo pillow boxes. I jazzed mine up using the Clear Cut Stackers: Stars dies to cut some star shapes out of the box. I tucked a bit of cardboard inside it while cutting so that the dies would only cut through one layer. Then I spritzed it all up, and added some patterned paper to the inside so that it would peek through the die cut stars.

A perfect place for a little gift. These boxes are great!

Here are the links for the rest of the DT - they knocked my socks off yesterday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
