Happy Release Day!
Today Waltzingmouse Stamps will be releasing two new sets: He's a Free Spirit, and Free Spirit Sentiments. We've been sharing previews of these sets for the past few days.
If you're hopping along with us, you should have come here by way of Laurie's blog. If you just happened to stop in, the fun starts with Claire on the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog. Bonnie will be the next stop after me, I have linked her blog up again below.
Prizes are also up for grabs for two lucky commenters! One winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on one of the Design Team Members' blogs, the other will be chosen from the comments left on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog. So let us know what you think of the new release!
Today's card was one of the first I created with these new sets. As soon as I saw the graphics for the set, the gears started turning.
I found a lot of ideas for these stamps in the young men's clothing section of the department store ads. Kohl's in particular has a great selection of graphic t-shirts, many with a surfer feel to them, that I found inspirational.
I lined up my surf boards up on the border stamp, which kind of resembles a wave, huh? It would be a great place to stamp a sentiment or a row of dots - very versatile!
I pierced a row of dots below the wave, and added my sentiment. Again, this is two stamps; there are many phrase-building possibilities in the Free Spirit Sentiments set.
To add a little bit of contrast, I distressed the edges of my image and stamped my card base with the grid pattern from Off Beat Backgrounds. This is one of my favorite cards - I knew right away I wanted to stamp these surf boards on Kraft cardstock :)
I hope you enjoyed the new release festivities and have had a bit of a taste at just how versatile and unique these sets are. Bonnie is your next stop along the hop. Enjoy!
I travel back home tomorrow, so I'll be back live on Monday to share the details of my trip!
Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!
