Hello, hello!

Today is the monthly blog party at Waltzingmouse Stamps. This month's theme is LOVE. Love!

She is highlighting some beauties: My Heart, Appleblossom Seeds, Woodenheart Alphabet, My Island, and Woodgrain. I used a few of these sets on my card for today, but you can always find more inspiration in the WMS Gallery.

Right now I am in a square card mode, loving the color red, and feel the need to put a doily on everything.

All the stamps that I used are from the My Heart and Woodgrain sets. Both of these sets have a US shipping option, too. Just sayin'.

Sending Prayers

Well hello there. I hope you had a good weekend. Things are winding down here as we start switching gears into another week.

Here is a little card that I made for this week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World Blog.

I used the Beautiful Butterflies set, because they really are some beautiful butterflies.

I love the light and airy look to the butterflies in the inspiration picture, very ethereal. So I pulled out my Watercolor Wonder crayons - these babies haven't seen the light of day for a good year. I used the Cameo Coral and Ruby Red crayons and colored the butterflies right onto the stamp, then spritzed it with a combination of water and Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls before stamping it onto my Oatmeal cardstock. What fun! I was glad I played along purely for using supplies that I haven't used in ages.

Before stamping my sentiment, I mixed a little water with some of the Perfect Pearls and then flicked it onto my card. It just adds some subtle gold flecks, but works well with the fibers in the cardstock and the bit of shimmer to the butterflies.

I thought this would be a nice card to send to Jinny to pass along to Molly.

Miles Apart

Happy Friday, friends.

Rough week - I'm kind of cranky. But the weekend is almost here, so I should cheer up. We are forecasted to get some sleet and snow tonight, so I will be happy to stay inside in my jammies.

Here is a card I made for the Moxie Fab Map to Your Heart Challenge.

The stamp set and coordinating dies are MFT's First Class Friend.

This challenge inspired me to create another project as well. I fell head-over-heels with the map lampshade that Cath featured in her post. I just happened to add an old lamp to my desk that needed a lampshade update, how lucky was that!

I found a lampshade I liked in the As Is section of Ikea for just a few bucks. I knew I was covering it, so the dirt marks on it didn't bother me. Then I tracked down some map paper - I really love the look of the map in the pictures, and wanted to find something similar. Here's the finished product, what do you think?

I think I love it. :) I used the paper I had left over for my card.

Keep in Touch

Hello, sweets. How are you today? I'm having a weird hide under the desk and leave me alone kind of day. I need to work on my stress-repelling force field.

Let's talk good stuff instead, ok? How about this week's Tuesday Trigger?

I saw this, loved it, and took it in a totally different direction.

My first thought when I saw all those numbers all laid out, all different colors, was keys (makes complete sense). Specifically, this Antique Keys background stamp from Hero Arts. I busted out my very neglected Stampin' Write markers and colored the keys on the stamp, huffed on it, then stamped it on my cardstock. Um, I kind of love it. I know I completely neglected the whole number part of that photo, but sometimes you just gotta go where the mojo takes you!

I used the typewriter again to type out my sentiment - keep in touch.. keep.. KEYp.. get it? I hope so, or you'll think I've lost it for sure.

So I was thinking about Project Life and was going to ask you guys what you thought but then I went ahead and ordered the stuff anyway. But I'll still ask you.

I have always liked the idea behind scrapbooking and am in awe of those of you that scrap. I really never thought it was for me, though, because (and I know I'm off base, but ideas are sometimes hard to change) I don't have any children. I just didn't think I'd have enough to fill a scrapbook. Sure, Bill and I travel here and there, but the other 50 weeks out of the year are pretty much wash, rinse, repeat. Yawn, right? But I just love the look of Michelle Wooderson's and Ali Edwards' Project Life layouts. Normal, everyday pictures with some other stuff splashed here and there, I loved the simplicity of it. Write only as much as you need or want to.

So I started thinking about this week. This week we replaced our kitchen faucet. The stupid project took 3 days, and it might not mean a thing to you, but it is a recurring theme in our lives: updating our house is a painful struggle. I thought of the task of de-Christmasifying, something that will likely be happening in our house in the coming week or so. The cute petite snowball cake I bought from a bakery this week that had the most amazing (and unexpected) raspberry filling in it. This weekend we're going to a minor league hockey game with my brother and his girlfriend.

And then I thought about my Mom and how much my family means to me, and even if I don't have children, I still have a family and I still have a life that is worth documenting - if anything, just for the pure fun of it. To look back in a year and say - remember when we went to replace the faucet and we had to do this, and then this, and the planets had to be perfectly aligned before it worked? These are the things that are my most favorite about the Project Life albums I've seen - the complete normal everyday stuff that is included. So my original question was to ask you guys what you thought, am I totally off? Should I take the plunge (which is a little late, since I bought the Clementine Core Kit this morning)? Are you sighing and rolling your eyes like my husband at the thought of me taking on another Project? Feedback, please! I want to hear your thoughts.

Miss You

Hi there.

I hope your Christmas was amazing and you have been enjoying your time before the New Year. My mom was admitted to the hospital on Monday, so things have been a little out-of-sorts around here. My parents live just down the street from me, so this is typically an opportunity for us to enjoy a little extra time together. Even though she is improving, it is still really bringing me down. I had a great list of things to accomplish while I was off work and I haven't managed one of them. I hope that things get back to normal before the beginning of the new year so we can start things off right.

I have a little card to share with you today, inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog.

I also tapped into inspiration from Maile Belles color blocking with dies post, which seemed perfect for this week's trigger.

The leafy branch and bird images are both from the Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions set from Wplus9. Both were embossed in white onto Crumb Cake cardstock and cut out. The sentiment was typed with an old typewriter that my mom dug out for me. I think the crookedness is part of the charm. Pretty simple - a bit relieved for actually finishing it.. it has been in pieces on my desk for the past few days. I'm hoping the act of finishing this card will help me to get some other things moving as well. If you can't tell, I don't deal well with not knowing what to do with myself - I like tasks and lists and crossing things off. I'm glad you stopped by, I am thinking of you!

WMS is Moxie Fab!

Good morning!

Today Cath Edvalson is featuring Waltzingmouse Stamps for the Stamp of Approval feature on the Moxie Fab World Blog. Yay! Cath has extended the opportunity to win six WMS stamp sets (all of the goodies from the most recent release) to not one, but two lucky people!

I'm here to share some eye candy made with these lovely stamps. Some of my most favorite yet.

This card uses Seasonal Remedies, a holiday follow up to the popular Rescue Remedies.

I just fell in love with this next card.

I'm not sure if its the simple design, the classic colors, or that delicious font but I just love it. If I end up needing a few extra Christmas cards here or there, this baby is going to be it. This uses two of the smallest ornament images from 2011 Holiday Ornaments. I stamped them and then die cut them with the coordinating 2011 Heirloom Ornaments dies from Spellbinders.

And finally, a card for someone special that uses one of my favorite single images from this release - the cluster of candy canes from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers.

This idea was totally inspired by Cathy Weber's Dessert Buffet Placecards where she accented her various images with the holly from Festive Foliage. I loved the look of this and incorporated it onto my card .. this went to my sweet WMS Secret Santa :)

Homespun Hugs

Around here, I'm glad its Friday. I hope the weather holds out for us this weekend, I could use some fresh air and sunshine. Are you planning anything for the weekend?

The card I would like to share with you today was inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog. I interpreted the photo pretty literally, as it was a perfect excuse for me to crack open these new beauties from My Mind's Eye.

Here is the Trigger picture - so pretty, isn't it?

And here is my card - I wanted to capture some of the cheeriness of the photo.

I picked a few colors from the photo and just dove in. These doily images are so pretty, and to see them in these colors makes me smile.

The sentiment (a perfect fit!) is from the Sewing Box - Hugs set from Waltzingmouse. I wrapped some twine around the card and tied my little sentiment banner to it. This card makes me think of my grandma, and makes my heart happy :)

Hi there! How are you doing today?

I have a fun little card to share with you today. I picked up this new handbag last weekend and one of my first thoughts was how much fun it would be to replicate the pattern on a card. When I saw the current Moxie Fab World Challenge, the Offset Scallop Gallop I knew I needed to get my butt in the studio!

Here is a photo of my handbag inspiration.. funky, fun, and a little fallish, huh?

I used the large scalloped border die from Papertrey Ink to cut each of my strips of cardstock. The sentiment is from the WMS Teeny Trees set, a phrase creeping into my daily conversations courtesy of Claire!

Dancing Lanterns

TGIF, friends!

Popping in quick today to share the card I made for this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger.

Beautiful, isn't it? I just couldn't resist another opportunity to play with the sweet lanterns from Asian Gardens Additions.

As you can see, I interpreted the photo pretty literally. I love the happy mix of colors on this one. The Kraft background is embossed with a woodgrain pattern and I cut the tops of the lanterns out so that I could string them on the twine. The sentiment could be used for many occasions - I think this is a great fit for 'come on over and celebrate the summer on my back patio!'

There's No Place Like CHA..

I love lazy Saturdays. I just like to poke around the house, doing a little of this or that.

I have another card to share that was created for the current Moxie Fab World Blog challenge. This card isn't quite as Anne Taintor-ish as the other, but I loved this image from the Vintage Fashion ATC transparencies and thought it was close.

I was trying to think of something snarky I could say about shoes, but kept coming back to Dorothy's 'there's no place like home' from the Wizard of Oz. I wondered what place a crafter would want to be and thought CHA! (I know *I* would like to go to CHA - this summer I just might make it to Chicago!) So I took it and ran.

I added the rectangle border (cut with my Slice) and red glitter as a nod to Dorothy's ruby slippers. The newsprint background is actually from a shopping bag, and I tried my hand at one of the scrunched-up scalloped circles. The sentiment was computer-generated. Maybe not an exact match for the challenge, but certainly inspired by!

Bad Hair Day

Happy Wednesday everyone! My computer is acting strange today - hopefully it figures itself out. Computer problems are the worst!

Today I have a super fun card to share! I stepped up to the plate again for the current challenge on the Moxie Fab World Blog - Let's Get Sassy with Taintor-tude!

I love Anne Taintor's snarky sense of humor. I mean, what isn't to love about this? It is sort of like we're all thinking it.. but she says it! Anyway, on to my card!

This is another very versatile transparency from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. This is from the Vintage Fashion ATC Transparencies. I thought these behatted ladies would be just the ticket. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket (Early Bird and Girl Friday). I liked how everything is on an angle and the circle hangs over the card - I added some red rhinestones for pizzaz.. Or sass, if you like. :)

The sentiment was computer-generated, just cut from copy paper and then distressed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink. Cute, quick, and fun (and too bad if fabulousness isn't a word ;)

Merry Christmas Mouse

A cute little card for you this Thursday afternoon that came together in a snap.

The mouse and sentiment are both stamps from Stampendous. I used Copic markers to color the mouse and outline his little tree. I thought a few red crystal stickers would be a perfect addition to his tree.

I think this guy will be perfect for the Moxie Fab World Blog All Creatures Great and Small Challenge! I hope you are well today - have you made your list and checked it twice? I finally finished my shopping today during my lunch break, thank goodness. I can't handle those crowds!

Vintage Merry Christmas

Happy December, friends! Before we know it, it will be June again!

Today I'm sharing my card that I made for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (late again).

I love this card! I pulled out my Mini Holidays cling stamp set from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection. The collage of ads, cluster of snowflakes, and sentiment are all from this set. The music score background, which I just found this weekend and *love* is from Stampendous. Everything got a treatment of Distress Ink after I cut it out... I just love Distress Ink!

The cream strip of cardstock was punched with the Martha Stewart Simple Scallop edge punch. There are some other do-dads and things added - its all in the recipe, but if you have questions leave me a comment.

And speaking of Tim Holtz, today he started his 12 Tags of Christmas over on his blog. If you've never followed Tim's Christmas tags, you should check it out! It is very inspiring and he's giving step-by-step instructions, so you can play along (I am!)

Plum Crazy Plaid

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I don't usually use purple much in my paper crafting - it isn't that I dislike the color, I guess I tend towards other colors first - but the current Moxie Fab World Challenge is helping me to be plum crazy!

And what could be better than a perfect plum plaid!! ;)


I started with half a sheet of Perfect Plum cardstock. I stamped my plaid (Off Beat Backgrounds) in Perfect Plum, Night of Navy, and Peony VersaColor ink. *swoon*

The card base is Night of Navy, and I adhered my plum plaid diagonally and trimmed off the rest. The label is from Very Vintage Labels 4 and the circle tag and sentiment is from Seasons of Love - Tags. I adhered the label on a bit of an angle, just for kicks. I added a silver button, some white gel pen dots, and some distress ink to finish it off.

This deep purple color is really speaking to me right now - I am thankful to Cath for the inspiration and challenge! Go here to check out the challenge, be inspired, and submit your entry!

You'd better get your shades out for today's card! I thought I'd be clever and combine a few challenges. I used the Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge from Embellish Magazine, the sketch challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges, and The Gradient is Radiant Moxie Fab World Blog Challenge. Whew!

So, here's my card.. playing more with the new Off Beat Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse Stamps. (If you haven't visited the new store yet, you'd better hurry! You're missing fabulous new stamps!)


I used the funky chevron stamp to create some out-of-this-world patterned paper! Woo!
I also used the polka dot and faux stitches stamps from the set. The pumpkin and circle sentiment is from the Halloween Party set (which is now back in stock). The circles were cut with my Nestabilities and then I added some rhinestones.

These background stamps are *fun*! I know this card is a little over-the-top, but if I can't be silly every once in a while, what's the point, right? ;)

Hi everyone! I have another card to share with you today that I made for one of the holiday challenges on the Moxie Fab World blog.


The holiday tag stamp is from the Very Vintage Christmas set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. Claire's sets are fantastic, and I just couldn't resist this with the beautiful tag image and build-it-yourself snowflakes (I also picked up the Halloween Party stamp set as well).

The tag was stamped in Bravo Burgundy. The snowflake and sentiment were stamped with Distress Inks. The background is three strips of Cosmo Cricket paper from the Oh Joy Collection. These were matted on a piece of Sage Shadow cardstock and stitched (I used the same sketch as I did for this card). The card base is Vintage Cream. Loved using these stamps!

Holiday Cheer

When December rolls around, I will be glad that I was on a holiday card kick in August!

The Moxie Fab World Blog has me thinking Christmas recently, and here is a cute little card that I popped out last night. I had clean and simple in mind.. go here to check out other participants in the Moxie Fab World Blog clean and graphic holiday style challenge!

The finished card size is a little unique: 3-1/4 by 5-1/2. (Ok, I confess. The real reason I decided to size the card this way is so that I only needed to stamp the branches from Rustic Branches once across the card. Not that the clear stamps aren't really simple to line up, but only having to stamp them once is really simple!) Unusual sized cards are fun sometimes!

The sentiment is from Holiday Wishes. The rhinestones were originally clear, and I colored them with a Copic marker to match the Scarlet Jewel ink. That's about it! Very easy to mass produce for Christmas!


I am feeling so proud of myself at this point - I usually wait until some time in December to finally get started on my Christmas cards! I am having fun getting started early, so hopefully I'll have a nice big stash by the time the holidays roll around. Thank you for stopping by - I hope you have a perfect evening!

Easy Being Green

Here's another card that I made for the Moxie Fab Its All Green to Me challenge. I thought this one was fun.. I am in love with chipboard letters recently. I know they've been around for a while, but I'm just jumping on the bandwagon now.

The patterned paper is from Fancy Pants. The alphabet chipboard is Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse and the frog is from a stamp set called Actopus to Zelephant from K&Company. Very easy.

It has been a rough couple days around here. Some friends were visiting and other issues going on, and everything is really out of whack. I am trying to maintain the crafting just for a creative outlet, but having a hard time stopping here every day to post like I like to. Don't worry, I'm getting back to my routine!
