Scattered Showers

Today's card and today's weather!  Every time I look outside, it is doing something different.. blue sky, rain, hail - who knows what is going on?!

My new PTI goodies arrived the other day and I had an idea that I needed to put on paper (so to speak)!

Its a card and bookmark combo!  This card has inspiration from a few places:  the sketch is this week's card sketch from Card Positioning Systems, the bookmark idea was inspired from Laurie's card here, and the paper pierced clouds, which I *adore* were straight from Lauren's blog.  All these things were floating around in my head and the lightbulb went off.

Here's another picture with the bookmark removed.

The card base is a 3-1/2" by 7" piece of New Leaf cardstock.  The bookmark was cut using the long classic and scalloped rectangle Nestabilities.  The Pure Poppy Bitty Dot Basics paper on the card front is popped up so that the bookmark slides behind it.  The upper umbrella is cut and popped up so that it holds the bookmark in place - nifty!  I added an oh-so-trendy button topped ribbon to the bookmark to finish it off.  I tapped a Versamark Dazzle stamp pad onto the umbrellas to add some sparkle.  Here's a closeup.. sparkle is always so hard to photograph!

Thanks for stopping by - I really appreciate it!  Wishing you sunshine!
