For Eliya

Happy almost Friday! I thought I'd sneak in a blog post for you today as I have some goodies to share! A dear friend of mine asked if I could make a baby gift she could give (I have become the go-to person for baby gifts recently for some reason) and I thought a cute little name frame would be nice.

The little one's name is Eliya, and I put this together for her. Simple and cute!

The frame is in the Ribba series from Ikea. I love these because they come in two sizes: 5-1/2 inch square (this one) and 9-1/2 inch square. They are about an inch deep, so three dimensional items don't get squished.

I started with a square of Vintage Cream and stamped the grass image from Honey Bees multiple times with a few different green inks. I did the same with a large and small flower from the set, stamping some on a piece of scrap paper to cut out and pop up. The butterfly is from With Sympathy and the little snail (how stinkin' cute is that?) is from Forest Friends. The alphabet that I used to stamp Eliya's name is the Curly Alphabet from KI Memories. I added a few adhesive rhinestones to the flower centers to finish it off. I just love this - I think I might need one for myself!

I also made a door knob hanger. This can be hung on Eliya's bedroom door so that everyone knows she's asleep! This follows the same theme as the name frame.

The patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie (Clementine). I added some Ocean Tides to pull it all together. I first saw the door knob hangers like this on Lisa Johnson's blog for the Bitty Baby Blessings countdown. They are another fun and easy project - just think of the possibilities!

Thank you for stopping by tonight! We are just finishing up some ice cream from a local family-owned ice cream stand (they have the best chocolate milkshakes!) and are going to settle in for the night. We thought the dogs might like to come along for the ride, so now they are worn out too. I'm going to head up to my stamp room and see what I can come up with. Have a great evening!

Anya

  2. I don't know which I like better, the frame or the door hanger, but I think I might lean towards the door hanger, it is just too precious. Great paper choices and colors.
