Hi there,
I hope your week is off to a good start. Welcome to Day 3 of the February Release at Waltzingmouse Stamps. Remember, the stamps and die sets that we are showcasing are now available for purchase in the WMS Store! Tomorrow we will wrap things up with our traditional blog hop.
Today we are showcasing the Halftone Backgrounds stamp set and the Easter word die.
Halftone Backgrounds is a staple set if you like the graphic and mixed media styles, but with a little creativity, is a great accent to any style!
Nothing too fancy on this card, just some bold colors and lots of image layering. Here's a trick: I flipped the long strip stamp over and inked up the back side to add a solid shape to the mix. Any of the images in this set would be perfect candidates for this technique. The little chevrons are a fun accent, I stamped a few in a row and cut them out, adhering them to my card with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment is from the Kaboom stamp set, these two sets make a great pair!
My second card for the day features the Easter word die.
So pretty! The watercolor background was created using Distress Inks - nothing difficult, just some watercolor paper and a wet brush. The inks are very forgiving, and I was just going for something light and springy.
The word die was adhered to a strip of paper vellum and then to my card base. The 'He is Risen' is from the Nestie Eggs set.
That's all I have for today, please be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team, as well as Claire on the WMS Blog. Don't forget that the entire February release is available for purchase NOW in the Waltzingmouse Stamps Store!
So glad you stopped by! See you tomorrow!
