Waltzingmouse Secret Santa Card Exchange

Hello and Happy Friday!

This December was the second annual Waltzingmouse Stamps Secret Santa Card Exchange. Cathy Weber tirelessly organizes this fantastic event, and I so enjoy being a part of it. Supplied with the contact information for a Secret Santa, you make a holiday card and send it - its that simple!

This year, Charmaine Stack was my Secret Santa, and I received this stunning card from her!

I love the rich hues of blue that she used on this! The shading adds so much dimension to the design, and I particularly love the shaded label. She also included the sweetest little note and tucked a little gift inside that will soon find a home in my studio. I loved it all, Charmaine! The images she used are from the Yonder Star set, and it has inspired me to pull that one out, along with the Yonder Star Backgrounder and see what kind of non-holiday design I can come up with.

Melissa Ladd was my Secret Santa, and this is the card that I sent to her:

I have seen lots of pretty lanterns around the holidays, but particularly loved this one.

As you can see, this really provided a lot of inspiration for my card. I used the Bright Season set along with Festive Foliage and the Cabin Plaid Backgrounder. I loved putting this together for Melissa.

This was such a great event, Cathy, and I just love that you pull it all together for us! Next year we hope you will join us, too!

Have a great day!

  8. A super lantern card, Anya. I admire the fact you can look at a photo and get so much inspiration from it. The plaid background is perfect, and I like how it looks like a strip of fabric with the stitching down the sides. Thanks for your gracious comments about my star card. Claire is clever in designing those WMS stamps to coordinate effortlessly!
